HPA Training was created in March of 2002 by Bill Heacock and Rita Perez. Their objective was to combine their many years of training and consulting experience into a versatile company that could respond to a wide variety of organizational performance needs. Since that time, HPA has become one of the best known train the trainer companies in the world, having trained over 5,000 trainers from 63 organizations in 21 countries.

In addition to their own expertise, Bill and Rita partner with some of the best consultants in the industry who can put their own unique skills and abilities to work for the clients of HPA.

Bill Heacock has a Master’s of Science Degree in Instructional and Performance Technology from Boise State University. He has been teaching instructional skills to trainers and subject matter experts for over 20 years. As a course designer, he has helped develop training programs for a variety of public and private sector organizations around the world. He has extensive experience in creating not only instructor-led training but also e-learning and other alternative delivery methods. He is a member of the e-Learning Guild and the Association for Talent Development.

Rita Perez is a professional speaker, trainer, management consultant and former president of Practiceworks, Inc., a management consulting company specializing in the health care industry. She received her Bachelor’s in Education from the University of South Florida and is currently our primary expert in transforming boring, text-intensive PowerPoint® presentations into stimulating and retentive learning events.
